Mediation Centre inaugurated

A Community Mediation Centre has commenced functioning at Olavanna Grama Panchayat under the leadership of the Kozhikode District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and the District Mediation Centre.
The centre was inaugurated by Shri Biju M. C., Secretary, Kozhikode District Legal Services Authority and Civil Judge (Senior Division), at a function held under the chairmanship of Shri Sulin M. S., President, Olavanna Grama Panchayat, at 3:00 PM on Monday, 7 September 2026.
Community Mediation Scheme
Olavanna Grama Panchayat has been selected for the implementation of the Community Mediation Scheme under the leadership of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kozhikode.
The scheme aims to provide an opportunity for disputes and complaints to be resolved amicably through dialogue, mutual understanding and mediation, before they reach the courts.
The Community Mediation Centre can facilitate the settlement of various disputes arising at the local level, including:
- 🔹 Family disputes
- 🔹 Disputes between neighbours
- 🔹 Property-related disputes
- 🔹 Workplace-related issues
- 🔹 Disputes relating to recovery of money
- 🔹 Issues concerning common or public resources
- 🔹 Disputes in the social and cultural spheres
- 🔹 Other disputes of a civil nature
The Community Mediation Centre is intended to help resolve such disputes amicably and expeditiously, while minimizing the need for people to approach the courts wherever possible.
